How do I clean my CPAP Mask and Machine?

Cleaning the different parts of your CPAP mask, machine, and other accessories is often a daily or weekly task.

For your CPAP mask, whether it is the Nasal Pillow Mask, Nasal Mask or Full Face Mask, it is important to wipe down the mask daily to remove any facial oils. This can be done by using an antibacterial wipe, a specialised facial mask wipe, or through using a small amount of dishwashing liquid and warm water.

For other components of your CPAP machine, such as tubes, seals and chambers, there are several different cleaning processes. For hoses and tubes, it is important to clear out any fluid or condensation buildup. This can be done by pushing a hose brush through any tubing used on a weekly or as-needed basis. Your machine, while not necessarily in direct contact with your body, should be wiped down of any dust on an as-needed basis.

Finally, for other products such as seals, cushioning and headgear, clean at your discretion with antibacterial wipes or specialised facial mask wipes. These components will need to be replaced on an annual basis to ensure proper function.
