The Philips Respironics 60 Series humidifier water chamber is made with a stainless steel base designed to prevent corrosion. This chamber is specific to the Philips Respironics System one 60 series and will not fit the 50 series. The chamber will develop discolouration over time if used with tap water and the manual recommends usage of distilled water to prevent discolouration.
