I'm Bryce Perron from CPAP Direct. In this video, I'm going to cover the new AirFit N20 Nasal Mask by ResMed.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eUp until this point, ResMed's current nasal mask was called the AirFit N10, which in my mind wasn't the greatest nasal mask out there. They've since released the N20, which in my opinion is a huge, huge upgrade or step forward from the N10 that it came from. When you look at this mask, it looks like a hybrid of a whole heap of different masks, but they seem to have taken the best of the other different brands and they rolled it together into one particular mask. You know what? They've got the seal really, really well.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eI'm going to show you how this mask looks. When you get an N20 mask, it should come in a box like this. If it doesn't, then you've got a copy or an inferior product, and they put a lot of time and effort into designing the box a bit like Apple do with their products as well, so it opens up quite nicely, and out comes the mask. Very well-packaged.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIt also uses a short tube, very similar to the N10. The short tube has a clip on it, which is designed for easy release if you're going to the bathroom in the middle of the night. The cushion on the N20 is a new design. They made a really soft part there for the bridge of the nose and also underneath on the top of the lip as well, maintaining the firmness around the edges.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe upside to this mask is you can get a really good seal without it being tight at all. Some people called it an 'Infinity Seal' because of the way that it sits on the face. Really snug. Very comfortable to have on the face. Nothing on the forehead either, so the forehead is nice and clear for glasses or just for people that are claustrophobic and don't want to have a lot of head gear.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eLike the N10, they kept the magnet idea, and this is a real game-changer for people that have got arthritis in the fingers because it's really easy to clip on and off. A lot of clips and hooks can be quite hard on the fingers. This is very easy to get on and off, and they've moved the magnets back as well, so they don't dig into the cheeks.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eOne of the things I didn't like about the N10 was when I was lying on my side, I'd end up with a crater in my cheek from the magnet where this is set back a lot further, which is great. One of the downsides to that is if you have a pacemaker, you just want to make sure that you check with your cardiologist to make sure it's okay to be using a CPAP mask that's got magnets on it.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe other thing is that the released headgear that came with it, bear in mind this has only just been released, is quite small so if you've got a really big head, then it would pay to come and have a proper fitting down in one of the clinics to make sure that the headgear is going to be right for you because we have struggled with some people with some big heads. Now, bear in mind ResMed may change the headgear or bring out bigger headgear for this mask as it rolls out. It's only just been released, so they're still getting some feedback on how that works.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eI'll put the N20 on so you can see how it fits. The nose piece goes on first. Pull the head gear over the back, and as you can see, the magnets clip on nice and easy. This short tube is connected to the long tube and then the elbow clips into the front like that. It spins all the way around so you can have the tube up high or down below, depending on how you like to sleep with your CPAP mask. There's a couple little tabs there that you press to release that if you want to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eGreat for somebody, as I said, with a standard-size head, but just make sure that you check that first. Very, comfortable mask to wear. Exit air still comes out of the front. They haven't found a way to completely diffuse that. In this video, I'm going to cover the Eson 2 Nasal Mask from Fisher and Paykel.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSo the Eson is arguably one of the most famous and most comfortable nasal masks on the planet. And Fisher and Paykel released an Eson 2 version of the mask to try to make some enhancements to that initial mask.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eI was always a big fan of the original and they've made a few enhancements to the new mask, which they aptly call the Eson 2. So, this is what it looks like. It has a new headgear. It has a new filter at the front. The cushion profile is about the same but the clip system and the headgear and the angle of the frame all make up this new mask and the way it feels.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eLike all nasal masks, if they have clips, it's important to use the clips instead of the Velcro when you're unclipping it and taking it off. This new clip system is designed so that it won't come undone and the Velcro is also better designed than on the original as well. They just clip on like that.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe cushion has the same profile that the old one did as far as the design goes. There's a lot of suspension and cushioning in the silicone piece that goes on your nose. The profile feels a little bit different to me coming from using an Eson 1 to using an Eson 2, but again, like anything it only takes a week or two to get used to.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe clip is easy to put on because it only goes on one way. The disposable filter system that was on the original Eson has now been replaced with a washable filter. The reason why these filters are great is because it stops the exit air from blowing all over the person lying next to you. So not only does this make it an extremely quiet mask to use, but it also means that it is probably the least disturbing mask for you to use from a partner perspective as well.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eSo that just clips on there. We still have the quick release for going to the bathroom and the headgear is a lot more stretchy and there's less of it than on the original Eson. Has a different design that way. One of the best things about washing the headgear on this mask is that you can disassemble the headgear without losing your adjustments on the Velcro.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eFor example, pop the clips off and then just pull the top straps down and you can throw that in the delicates bag and in the washing machines with your normal clothes every three or four weeks, and then when it comes to put it back on after it's dry, they just slide back onto the frame. And you're good to go.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAll in all, I think it's a fantastic mask. Like any mask, it takes you a couple weeks to get used to using something. I was a fan of the original Eson and now that I've been using the Eson 2, I'm now a fan of the Eson 2 as well. In this video I'm going to show you the new AirFit F20 full face mask by ResMed\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe AirFit F20 is a really good hybrid between the AirFit F10 that ResMed have had just recently and the old Mirage Quattro, which is probably the most famous full face mask that ResMed have ever done. They brought in some extra key funky factors like the magnets to hold the mask on and they've done a lot of work on the seal to get this to fit very well. I'm a big fan of this mask and I don't like full face masks at all. In my opinion, they're our last resort but this is one of the only full face masks that I can actually sleep with all night. I'm going to show you how this works. I'm going to open the box. Now, firstly, when you get the F20, if it doesn't come in a box like this, then you haven't got the real product. ResMed has spent a lot of time and money boxing it up to make it feel nice just like the Apple products. We open this up and slide this out. You'll see it's very well-packaged.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eSo one of the first things that you'll notice with this mask is that, again, there is nothing on the forehead, so there's no T-piece up there. You can wear your glasses with it if you're reading, there's quite a big opening gap there where the elbow goes in the front which means you can remove that if you need to go to the bathroom without taking the mask off your face. And they use magnets. The magnets are great for people that have arthritis in the fingers and they find it hard to use hooks or clips to get the mask on and off because the magnets find their way to the target very easily. So once it's set right, it's very easy to take on and off. We'll pull the cushion out and you'll be able to see the amount of work that's gone into this seal is incredible.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThey've made it quite soft up the top here and also just underneath the lips. Some of the feedback we had on the AirFit F10 was that it was really harsh on the bridge of the nose and people would end up with red marks on their face. So ResMed have spent a lot of time and money investigating this and they wanted to build a mask that had a really good seal but didn't have to be tight, didn't have to be really strapped on to get a good seal. And they've done a great job with the soft sections at the top and the bottom of the mask there. So they sit on the mask, sit on the face, very snug,\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003ethere's plenty of fluency there and buoyancy, so the mask can be quite mobile and still maintain a really, really good seal. I personally noticed when I used the mask that it felt quite harsh around the sides because they're much firmer than on the bridge of the nose and underneath. But then again, the mask probably needed time to wear into my face as well. So that's a great design. Easy to wash clips in. I'll put the mask on so you can see how it sits on my face. That's how I would have the mask normally.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eSo only criticisms that I have on this mask would firstly be that the headgear is very, very small. Now this is a new release for ResMed, so they may release the mask with a bigger headgear. Some of the people we've tried to fit this mask on haven't been able to put it on properly because the headgear has been so small. And the other thing is that you need to undo the Velcro to pull the headgear off to wash the mask. This means that obviously it needs to be refitted after you've washed the headgear. The elbow is quite big and bulky. Probably didn't need to be that big, but still a nice design for somebody that has removed the elbow to go to the bathroom because there's plenty of breathing space through that hole there. But overall, as far as the mask functionality wise, it's a beautiful mask, very comfortable and very modern and very light. So this is by far the most advanced machine that ResMed have ever made and we're really, really excited about it. In fact, I love using one of these things myself. The machines come in three different models; there's the Elite, which is the fixed pressure model, which looks like this. There's also the Standard AutoSet version, which looks like this as well. And then there's the 'For Her' AutoSet, which is a white and it has the silver flowers on the front of it as well. Now this machine actually also responds differently to what the standard one does and I'll cover that a little bit later when we talk about the different algorithms. And the finger underneath the flap there to open it up to fill up with water. We really want to just fill it up to about the midway mark usually. At night that just slides in there, so it's good for people especially that have arthritis and find it hard to get in and out of humidifier chambers because it's very user-friendly from that perspective. The electronic heated tube goes in the back and just basically clips in and you can have the tube on either side of the bed. Another advancement over the previous model is that the tube actually swivels as well. On this one here you can see it has a blue menu. On the female version it's pink. So that's your power button. The home button, like on a mobile phone; the bottom home button on the mobile which gets you back to the main menu, that has the same functionality here. So that will always go back to the main screen. This button here is a select button and the dial is a scroll dial. So if we were going into the menu options, you press the button and we can just scroll up and down and then select it that way. Home button again gets you back. One of the things we love about this device is it's probably the only machine that actually shows you a really detailed on-screen report if the company has opened that option up on the menu for you, which will show you if you're having Central Apnea's as well.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1rem; color: #1f2124; font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'San Francisco', 'Segoe UI', Roboto, 'Helvetica Neue', sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-weight: 400;\"\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis is the only machine I know that actually shows that but we have a breakdown of how long have you used it for last night, how many events per hour you had, if your humidifier was working well, if your mask seal was good. And then it gives you your monthly statistics which you can also break down to three months or six months as well, that gives you an average pressure, mask leak and a variety of different statistics basically to go through and the bottom part of the menu. So the female algorithm on this one works differently to the algorithm that was on the male one and similar to the S9. With the automatic versions, the machine looks at every three breaths and based on the shape of the breath,, the machine decides whether it gives you more air or gives you less air. With the For Her, the whole idea is that the females are more sensitive to pressure spikes and dips in a CPAP machine and this can also disturb sleep quality because a lot of times females can have less events per hour, but feel worse as far as the symptoms go with sleep apnea. So they wanted a machine that would respond differently to try and keep that patient asleep and they developed an algorithm which works on a single-breath indices. Based on that single breath, it decides whether it gives you more or less air, so it responds faster but the pressure spike is a lot less aggressive and it's much smoother. This has been a breakthrough for ResMed, they hang their hat on it. I must admit when I first heard about it, I was very skeptical but after going to the official launches and having a look at the theory behind those algorithms, I was blown away. These are great devices, they're very quiet, they have the pressure relief functions in them like the S9 did as well but it's a more solid feeling unit. The S9 in my opinion, was a very plastic-y feel. This has got a much stronger chassis and feels much better. Now, they've just released a version of the AirSense 10 which has their own in-built modem and internet source. This is great because it allows you to have an active role in your CPAP therapy as well. For us as clinicians, and as your support network, we're also able to monitor your progress and adjust settings if we need to all with your permission of course. So the machines look exactly the same, the modems and SIM cards are in-built. They don't require you to have your own internet source, they're completely self contained. And basically when you turn the machine off in the morning, the machine uploads all of your data to the cloud and we're then able to log into our dashboard and have a look at it so that way we can keep an eye on your progress. The software is very, very comprehensive, in fact, it's sorts it for us when we look at it into who has problems with mask leaks or a high amount of events or central apneas, or a whole heap of different indicators, which mean that we might want to get in touch with you and say; Hey! Let's see if there's something we can do here to make your therapy more comfortable because something's not right. In this video, we're going to do a review on the new Brevida Pillow Mask by Fisher and Paykel. So the pillow mask Fisher and Paykel had before this one was called the Pilairo and the Pilairo was okay, but there was a few design flaws which they've completely got right in the new one. I'm that impressed with the new Brevida mask and I think you will be as well when I show you how this works. So let's open one up and I'll show you what you get in the packet. So the packet looks like this, there's a tear at the top and we open her up.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eSo the initial Pilairo only had one cushion or one pillow, which is a 'one size fits all'. In the packet, you get an XSmall-Small and a Medium-Large. So there's two different size pillows. In fact, interestingly enough, I got some pretty decent-sized nostrils and I would've thought the Medium-Large was right for me however I get a better seal from the XSmall-Small than I do from the Medium-Large. So it's important when you get this mask, really try both of them out to find out which one's going to fit the best for you. It's quite a loose fit, it doesn't push up on the nostrils like a lot of pillow masks do. And I'm a fan of a nasal mask personally. But I really think that this is probably the most unintrusive pillow mask because the pillows are still inflatable.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIt has a washable diffuser on the front, I'll just pull that off, so rather than the disposable filters that come with the other types of masks, this one like the Eson 2, is now washable so you don't need to throw that one away but you also get a spare one in the pack with you as well. What the filter does (or the diffuser filter) is that stops exit air blowing all over the person lying next to you and it also makes the mask very quiet. You can see that there's goggle-style straps on the mask and it also has adjustability on the sides here. So this means that it's not going to stretch and then lose a seal and not fit properly. It's got everything covered from that perspective. Easy-to-use clips that just come straight off.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAnd they used a patent called Visiblue as a connection to make it easy to take the mask pillow off and to clip back in. So one of the things that happened on the Pilairo would be that the pillow would fall out even when you're using it and moving around in the middle of the night. This one clips in really nice, which is great. So the way to put this on obviously has a short tube which goes into your long tube, start the air and you use your thumbs to hold the pillows apart. I would put the air on [start device], use the thumbs to hold them apart, into my nose, over the head and adjust.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eSits quite nicely on the face. Very, very good seal and once again, these pillows inflate into the nose. So they get a seal by using the air flow from your CPAP machine to create that seal. Very, very nice, extremely comfortable, doesn't irritate my nostrils at all, and I'm a big fan. When you want to wash it, you can just unclip the straps, leave the Velcro done the way they're supposed to and throw them in the wash. When you clip off the pillows you can just use a bit of warm soapy water with those to clean them out as well. All in all, fantastic design mask. Very quiet, very comfortable and now with two different size pillows to come with it.
